Lately I am working intensively with the topic search engine optimization and the algorithms of search engines. Clear there are perceived 1 million SEO blogs and SEO service provider, which would tell me all this for a lot of money. But several magazines and refinements enable me as a Web Developer to enter in fact even in the search engine optimization.
So today I have only in the magazine “Website Boosting read” an interesting article on the subject of relevance Determination of term (or keywords) into search engines. The info is certainly already widespread among SEO’s and well known. For me, however, the system was not yet behind it so transparent.
Basically, one should imagine the following scenario, when a Web page is knocking at the door the first time a search engine. The questions of the search engine on the web page will be:
Who are you and what is at stake with you? (Unequivocal focus and Ratio)
Are you spam?
Can you prove your thematic focus? (Self evidence)
How holistic You are? (Diversity)
Point 1 is likely to be relatively self-explanatory. Point 2 there are different approaches, one is sure when the desired keyword too often happens, the engine closes like the door and says, “No, you’re not coming in here.”
After passing through the website, the steps 1 and 2, the question of the term relevance. How relevant are the keywords for the search engines, which are found on your web site? It used to be very popular among SEO’s to make the desired keywords occur as often as possible. Today we know something more about the relevance determination.
And while going current knowledge by searching for the relevance of Terms with the following calculation steps:
N (d) / N (i) = measure of the relevance of the term in comparison to the rest of the search results
N (d) = document corpus, the number of search results for a term / keyword in the title
N (i) = document corpus, the number of search results to the desired term / keyword i in the document
But that alone brings a website in the search engines is not in the top 10 under the keyword. Here the self-evidence into force (point 3 above). Can you prove that your website topic really suits the keyword that you produce but ask so insistently?:-)
For this purpose, the search engine takes other relevant keywords / Terms and watch whether they also occur on your web site. You are optimizing your website for example on the keyword ‘event space’, so watch also “Event Location” and “party room”. This can be the search engine of people confirm (the famous “Did you mean”). If not a single front on your web site from these relevant keywords / terms, this is suspicious and it is difficult to achieve a good position in the search results. The self-evidence is not so provided.
The issue is even more profound, but not in vain write SEO’s entire books to ?much from me first on the relevance of terms in the search engine optimization.
